My husband was born and raised in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. I love the time that I’ve spent in the summer, running under the Verrazano bridge, walking Prospect Park and shopping on 86th Street. I love it even more this time of the year. Thanksgiving always reminds me of being young, having dinner at my grandparents house that I grew up in surrounded by my cousins and enjoying my grandfather’s famous potatoes. Chris’s parents house has been a second home to me the past eight years. I’ll always treasure the memories I’ve spent in it, and the time I’ve spent there with his Mom. His Dad is moving on Friday and I wanted to do a shoot during the last weekend I’d spend at Chris’s childhood home.
We were headed out to celebrate my Father-In-Laws birthday and I decided on a comfortable fall outfit. High waisted jeans are a style that I’ve been wearing for a few years. I’m petite, and with short legs and a short torso it’s a hard trend for me to pull off. Wearing heels to elongate my leg helps a lot.
These jeans are my favorite. Carmar Denim is one of my favorite denim brands overall. I first found the brand shopping at LF in Boston. I bought a few pairs and wore them to shreds. I was so excited when I noticed that Carmar finally had their own website, I ordered three pairs of jeans right away. I love the color of these. Super comfortable and versatile they’ve quickly become my most worn. I paired it with a cute embroidered turtleneck tee I just got from Free People this week. My Matt Bernson booties are another favorite that are a few seasons old, and I’ve worn a thousand times. You can shop my look below.
