I’ve been wanting to blog about my pregnancy since the beginning. Since we found out in October things have changed so dramatically for Chris and I. His job changed and we realized we needed more space than the apartment we were living in. We first looked into staying in the city and quickly realized we wanted an outdoor space and a home of our own, so we started looking at houses to buy in the suburbs.
It was a crazy couple of months of searching, hoping, bidding on houses that sold the day they went on the market. A lot of emotions! Things worked out beyond perfectly when we found a house that felt home to us the second we stepped in. In the location we wanted to be in, completely renovated, adorable backyard – it was everything we wanted and more. We settled 30 days later and we’ve been living here for over a month now. Time as flown!
We’ve spent the past 5 or 6 weekends unpacking, decorating, nesting. Hoping to get everything the way we’ve envisioned before baby girl arrives!
Realizing now, just 9 weeks (give or take!) out – how quickly this time has been going I really want to slow things down and start documenting this journey.
How far along? I’ll be 31 weeks tomorrow. Getting so close and baby girl is getting so big! She’s about 3.5 lbs already!
What are you most excited about next? So many things! My shower is coming up in a few weeks. Starting on the nursery this week, I actually can’t wait to have all of my ideas come to life. And meeting her of course!
Movement: She moves all throughout the day and seems to rest at night. Let’s hope this pattern continues once she’s here!
How I’m feeling: I’ve come down with a cold over the past week which has brought me down a bit but otherwise I still feel great! I’m getting more tired and I’m noticing that my breath is taken away a lot quicker, but I’m trying to be as active as possible!
Cravings: I haven’t actually had many! Right now I’m really into strawberry mini wheats. Nothing exciting! I’ve been waiting to crave something super random but it hasn’t happened yet!
Food aversions: Since the first few weeks I’ve been anti tofu, rice, and anything that is remotely Asian inspired. I was really turned off by avocado for awhile but that (thankfully) went away.
Hardest part of the past week: My weekend actually started out pretty crazy. I was suffering from horrible contractions on Friday night. I was really scared when I realized that nothing was helping ease them and they were happening every few minutes. I thought in the past I’ve had experienced Braxton Hicks, but nothing compared to how I was feeling this time. I finally decided to call the doctor who told me to go into L&D and get checked out, just incase. I spent two hours in the hospital, baby girl was perfect. My contractions were a result of being incredibly dehydrated and I was able to go home and relax. It was totally an eye opening experience! Not only because I realized how much water I actually need right now but also being in the wing where I’ll be delivering in a few weeks was crazy. As we were leaving we saw a baby girl who had literally just been born and it made me cry. I can’t believe this little girl in my belly will be in my arms so soon. I’m so excited to meet her – she just needs to keep cooking!
Best part of the week: Chris has been talking to my belly lately – something I read is important right now. Every time this week that he spoke to her she kicked and kicked. It made my heart so happy. I can’t wait to see them together.
Another bumpdate coming soon!
