I want to be real. So here I am – this is me.
I’m messy and quirky, hard-working, but sometimes a scatter brain (I’m working on this). Born an artist turned graphic designer, turned fashion designer, I’m now back to my roots. I have a huge, insane, crazy family in which I’m the oldest. Six kids ranging from 30 – 3 years old. My 7 month old daughter has a 3-year-old aunt! It’s pretty insane. But it’s my life, and I love every part of it.
I’m a working mom. I do my best to balance work, motherhood, my marriage, and my social life. It isn’t always easy.
I’m incredibly lucky that my mom is able to watch Harper for me while I work. I am totally jealous of their bond, but it is just as well. I have an amazing bond with my grandmother also. She raised me along side my mom. We all lived together from the time I was born until I went to college. She’s 95 now and the strongest woman I’ve ever known. She recently underwent major surgery, and that night was the worst of my life. I’m so thankful every day that she is still here with us to watch my baby grow and to attend my sister’s wedding later this year.
I met my husband first semester freshman year of college – 11 years ago and we’ve been inseparable ever since. He’s my best friend and we’ve been through a lot together.
A Brooklyn born athlete and artist, he started his career working as an assistant photographer for the New York Mets. After losing his mom five years ago he went back to school to become a nurse in her honor. He never gave up the photography.
I started my career as a graphic designer. I fell into an amazing opportunity to create my own line of tee shirts with the help of my mom in 2011 – and thus, Erica Ray was born. I did super well for 3 years, selling to boutiques all over the country and a bunch of department stores. Traveling the country to work on my production and sales was everything I dreamed of and more. My shirts are still selling, however we have taken a break, for the most part, and I’m back at a 9-5, working for a company in Philadelphia.
Chris and I have a passion for travel. My father in law’s flying privileges have allowed us to fly around the country at last minutes notice. Since we had Harper we’ve taken a short break – but we are in the process of planning our 2018 adventures.
Chris and I absolutely LOVE Disney. Every chance we get we fly to Disney World with my father in law just to spend time. The first time I went I was 22. I had never been as a kid – but I made my family go two years ago. There is so much to do, and it is such a magical place. We spend our time there eating, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company. (A post coming soon about everything to do there as an adult). I seriously can’t wait until Harper is old enough to enjoy it.
My goal is to share with you my passion for fashion as I submerge myself back into the industry. What I really wear as a working mom.
I want to give you the go-to recipes I use as a busy mom who just wants to crash and hang with my baby when I get home.
I want to share any tips/recommendations on everything motherhood that I learn literally every day as my baby grows. I’m learning so much from all of YOU.
Follow me on my journey, and thank you for reading!
